City officials would like to extend their sincere thanks to all residents who took the time to vote. Civic participation is the cornerstone of a healthy democracy, and every vote cast helps shape the direction of our community.
On the May 3 election ballot, the City of Colleyville asked voters to vote for or against the City issuing up to $20 million in general obligation bonds to expand the current Recreation Center, located at 5008 Roberts Road. The expansion included a fitness center, locker room, indoor track, and multi-use field.
Voters rejected this measure 54% against and 46% in favor. Although the bond referendum did not pass, the Colleyville Recreation Center will continue to function as a vibrant, welcoming space for citizens of all ages to enjoy. The center will continue to offer a full range of programs and services at its current level, ensuring that it remains a hub for health, wellness, and community connection.
